My Assignment PoliciesHomework Policy:
1. I believe that students should be involved in physical activity and spend time with their family in the evening, rather than engaging in a continuation of the school day. 2. That being said, students will have spelling/vocabulary homework on Tuesday and Thursday nights. 3. Students who do not complete writing or project assignments in class will bring them home to complete. Students each have control over this and will only have writing or project homework if they have not been working effectively in class. 4. Homework is expected to be completed on time and is due at the beginning of the class period. 5. Late homework is NOT accepted and a zero will be recorded for the assignment. 6. A homework excuse form, ensuring ownership and accountability, will be filled out for each missing homework assignment and be turned in. 7. Homework assignments are listed nightly on the school’s web site. Quizzes and Tests: 1. Quizzes will not typically be given, and notice may or may not be given. 2. A minimum of three days notice will be given for tests. 3. School and state mandated testing will not be recorded as grades. Projects: 1. Projects are a form of assessment and will be included in the student’s quarterly average. 2. Major projects will be marked down one grade for lateness if handed in the next day. Nothing will be accepted after that. Class Material: 1. Students are expected to have required class materials with them at all times. These supplies include a charged iPad, pencil, pencil sharpener, and any other materials determined by the teacher. 2. If students are not prepared, their class participation grade will be docked for that day. Extra Help: 1. Extra help must be requested in advance. 2. A parent note stating that the child may remain at school for extra help is required. 3. Extra help is only offered after school, on Tuesday and Thursday, from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Extra Credit: Extra credit assignments are NOT given in this class. |
